Personal Mission Statement
II Peter 1:3-8
“As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature. So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (New Living Translation)

I (Debi) was born in the country of Bangladesh to American missionaries. I lived there for 12 years, then lived in the United States for a few years in upstate New York and Pennsylvania. When I was 16, my family moved to Nairobi, Kenya. After graduating from high school in Nairobi, I returned to the US for college. I majored in Bible at Baptist Bible College with a General Ministries emphasis, taking several classes in drama as well as Bible.
In 1997, I moved to Michigan to the metro Detroit area. October 10, 1997, I married Jono Martin. Jono went back to school to obtain his Microsoft Certification in computer networking while I got involved in secretarial jobs.
I believe in Jesus as the only Way to Heaven. I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age. In college, my relationship with God became more personal. Being a missionary kid has given me a unique perspective on things. I see how God is working all over the world. I have a passion for drama and like to do interpretive dance to songs. I love to read and usually have more than one book going at a time. I also like to scrapbook. It gives me a chance to use my creativity. Other hobbies include blogging.
